VITRUVIUS

At the end of 2006 Uriel Salinas (keyboard) met Armando Thamez (bass) and worked together to reunite members for a band called Erógena, They started auditioning singers and Dulce Robles was selected from a group of excellent singers. Toño Tejeda (guitar) and Oskar Villarreal (guitar), former members, rejoined the band not too long after that.
Immediately, Oskar, and Armando started composing some music and basic structures for a demo at Oskar's home studio. By the end of march of 2007, Dulce started writing lyrics for the songs, including all the ideas the band had. Erógena was left behind and Vitruvius was born. During that year, the band worked in the composition of most of the demo material, and when the songs were ready to be played on stage, they started accepting invitations to play in small local festivals; in places such as the Dada-X, a famous rock bar near to the Zócalo in Mexico City.
Vitruvius' music can be described as a fusion of a futuristic, ambient, progressive rock-metal. It is named Vitruvius after Marcus Vitruvius Pollio, a Roman writer, architect and engineer (he's been considered the world's first known engineer) from the 1st century BC.
In 2008, the band decided to record the official album. Oskar chose K.M. Studios in Toronto, Canada, so he flew there to start tracking the guitars, drums and keyboards. Dulce and Armando recorded the vocals and bass respectively at a separate studio in Mexico City. They sent the tracks through the internet to Oskar, who mixed them. Lucas Espinoza (keyboard) collaborated in the song "Somewhere". The album was completely mixed by the end of 2009, and it was mastered at Sterling Sound.
Vitruvius is currently preparing for promotion and composing new songs for a new album
